1. How do I apply for the DSA for my child? What CCAs are offered?

Visit the school's website at www.fairfieldsec.org and obtain the application form from the frontpage link. The CCAs available are listed on the website.
All application forms must be accompanied by results from Primary 4 to Primary 6 and any other relevant supporting documents.

Please note that incomplete application forms OR application forms submitted without supporting documents will not be accepted.

Applications close after 28 June 2010.

2. How long is the selection process?

The selection process is from 2 July to 13 August 2010. Following the selection trial, there will be an interview. Results of the selection will be released by 3 September 2010.

3. How do I know if my child is eligible for the DSA?

All Primary 6 students in Singapore may apply for the DSA to the school of their choice, based on the school’s criteria to select academic and non-academic talents for a more flexible and broad-based education system.

4. What happens after I have applied for the DSA?

There are 2 selection criteria following the submission of the DSA application form.

First, the school will arrange for a Selection Test/ Aptitude Test for your child in the DSA area you have applied for. You will receive an email from the school within a week after the closing date. It is compulsory for your child to attend the Selection Test/ Aptitude Test as it is part of the selection criteria.

Second, should your child perform well at the Selection Test/ Aptitude Test, he/she will progress on to the interview stage. The dates of interview would be informed by the school via email.

5. When will I know of the results of my application?

All applicants will receive a written notification through mail by 3 September 2010, stating whether the application has been successful.

6. What should I do if my application has been successful and I receive a Confirmed Offer from the school?

Students with a Confirmed Offer will be issued a School Preference Form from the respective primary schools. 5 working days will be given (from 25-29 October 2010) to indicate your School Preferences (up to 3 choices).
You will need to indicate your school preferences, with Fairfield Methodist School (Secondary) as the first preference.
