About the Speaker

Ms Ang Kai Ling, a believer of a holistic approach to children’s growth and well-being, not only provides her nutritional expertise to build a healthy body, but also builds up the social-emotional strengths of children to feed their heart and mind.

She is the author of the very successful series of “My Pals are Here -Health Education” textbooks, activity books and teachers’ guide that was widely adopted by local primary one to six children in Singapore schools. After serving 11 years as an academia in the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, provided nutritional services and conducted research with children, she realized our children’s heart and mind are malnourished. Having no difficulty in helping to build the body, she therefore decided to further her training in social-emotional aspects to help children to be successful and happy.

Besides provided nutrition talks, seminars and nutrition counselling workshops to school children (e.g Fit and Trim programme), elite athletes in Singapore (e.g. Singapore Lion soccer team) and the general public (e.g. Tanglin Rotary Club, children's home, RTRC), she has also drawn up healthy menu for children at children’s home and developed nutrition curriculum for the Bachelor of Early Childhood programme at the University of Melbourne.

Currently, even before she completes her Doctorate of Education in Social Emotional Learning with the University of Melbourne, she is already actively been engaged to provide talks and workshops on social emotional learning for teachers, mentors, parents and management team both in Singapore and overseas.

She looks forward to share her satisfying experiences of implementing YOU CAN DO IT! Social-Emotional curricula and concepts both at home and in school at your workshop.
